We collect very little. We store even less. Here is exactly what happens to your information when you visit AtlanticBay.
Last updated: January 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how AtlanticBay ("we", "us", or "our"), operated from 145 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, handles information in connection with the AtlanticBay free social gaming platform accessible at this domain. Please read it in full before using our service.
During normal use of AtlanticBay, we do not collect any personal data whatsoever. You do not register an account, provide a name, or supply an email address in order to play our free play game. No form submissions are required, and no personal identifiers pass through our servers as a result of gameplay.
The only data written to your device during a visit is stored in your browser's own localStorage — a client-side storage mechanism that never leaves your device and cannot be read by our servers. This storage holds two values: a flag confirming you have passed our age verification step, and a flag recording your choice when presented with our cookie consent banner. Both values are plain text strings with no identifying information attached to them.
AtlanticBay does not set any HTTP cookies. Instead, we use your browser's localStorage mechanism — a deliberately limited local-only alternative — to remember two things: that you have confirmed you are 18 or older, and whether you accepted or declined our optional cookie notice. No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or cross-site identification cookies are used by AtlanticBay.
Because localStorage data never travels across the network to our servers, it cannot be used to identify you, build a profile of your behaviour, or share your data with any third party. It exists purely to spare you from repeated age-gate pop-ups within the same browsing session.
To deliver the AtlanticBay interface, we load a small number of external resources: Bootstrap 5.3 CSS from unpkg.com, Font Awesome 6.4 icons from cdnjs.cloudflare.com, and the Exo 2 and Inter typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com. When your browser fetches these resources, the respective CDN provider's server receives your IP address and certain browser headers — this is a standard feature of how the internet works and is not under our control.
Each of these providers operates under its own Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review them if you have concerns. We have chosen providers with established privacy practices, but we cannot make representations on their behalf. We do not receive any data from these providers about individual users of AtlanticBay.
AtlanticBay is strictly restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We have implemented a mandatory age verification gate that every visitor must pass before viewing the platform. We do not knowingly allow minors to use our service, and we do not knowingly collect any information — even the minimal localStorage data described above — from anyone under 18.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a minor in your care has accessed AtlanticBay, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will investigate promptly. We also recommend using parental control software to restrict access to websites of this nature if minors are present in your household.
Because we do not collect personal data server-side, there is no personal data held on AtlanticBay's servers to retain or delete. The only data that persists after your visit is the localStorage data stored on your own device. This data remains in your browser until you clear it using your browser's standard settings, or until you choose to decline cookies in our banner, which prevents any new entries from being written.
There is no data-retention period to specify because there is no server-side record. Your browser's own storage policies govern how long localStorage data persists on your device. In most browsers, localStorage data has no automatic expiry and will remain until you manually clear your browsing data.
Since we hold no personal data about you on our servers, standard data-subject rights such as access, rectification, or erasure requests have limited practical application to AtlanticBay. However, we respect your right to control any data stored in your own browser. You may remove the localStorage entries written by AtlanticBay at any time by opening your browser's developer tools, navigating to the Application or Storage panel, and deleting the keys prefixed with atb_. Alternatively, clearing all browsing data in your browser's settings will remove them automatically.
If you have any questions about your rights, our data practices, or anything else covered in this policy, please reach out to us. We are a small team and we read every message.
